MISSION-VISION STATEMENT

Capitol Hills Christian School believes that the child is a precious gift of God. He/She is a unique individual with God-given abilities and potentials which must be nurtured and influenced by responsible adults with strong Christian values and Godly principles. CHCS is committed to the development of the total child and the provision of quality education through a Christ-centered curriculum.

Furthermore, Capitol Hills Christian School envisions an empowered and productive graduate with worth and dignity. Above all, it envisions a perfect man in Christ – a true Christian who loves God, his country and fellowmen.

School History

Two-Godly men, the late Reverend Romeo C. Hervias, the then Senior Pastor of Capitol Hills Christian Church, and Mr. Lorenzo V. Lagandaon, chairman of the Church Council, with the same vision planted the mustard seed—the creation of a school as part of the ministry of the church. Mr. Lagandaon, also a visionary with a grandiose plan to put up a university in the area, became one of the generous supporters of the budding school.

A Sunday school classroom of meager facilities in the sanctuary of Capitol Hills Christian Church in Batasan Hills, QC—this is how Capitol Hills Christian Church Kindergarten School began in 1987 with 13 pupils.

In the 2nd year, that was 1988, enrollment grew to 36 pupils. To meet the increasing number of students, Church Council had another building built in the Third Year that was in 1989. That same year, the then Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS), granted the school permit to open a Grade I class.

On its 9th year of operation, with 8 classrooms, the Lorenzo Lagandaon Hall housed 340 pupils with first high school offered in SY 1997-1998.

As the years pass by from there, the school grew larger as the 8 rooms turned to 22 classrooms and was equipped with a simple library, computer room, science laboratory, TLE room, and a school clinic.

In 2016, on its 29th year, Senior High School was officially opened in the light of the mandate of the Department of Education. CHCS was granted a permit for General Academic Strand and Humanities and Social Sciences.

And in its response to the demand from the students and the community, the school was once again granted a permit for Accountancy, Business and Management, with future plans to expand to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Strand-- completing the 4 basic strands of the Academic Track.

CHCS’ ministry of nurturing life is exemplified by the school’s mission and vision to provide “Academic Excellence through a Christ-centered Curriculum” which is centered at developing a child to be a life-long banner. The living testimony of the ministry is the students finishing with flying colors and becoming proficient in their chosen field.

Today, as it celebrates another year of God’s goodness, CHCS is a strong Christian institution that takes pride in being the innovative portal in research, sports and social sciences.

It stands gloriously through God’s grace as we experience breakthrough after breakthrough despite many challenges! The act of evangelism proves to be a growing power as the school continually strives to be a catalyst of faith and education through the years.

The Lord has declared in Jeremiah 29:11-- For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”, and He has proven time and again that His promise will endure.

To God be all the Glory!
